IMPORTANT UPDATE: Sad to say that Hackulous source is now officially DEAD, so you won't be able to download apps like AppSync and Installous from the repository anymore. As an alternative to Installous, you may try other apps that works like Installous.

Important! Read me!

• Backup your device using iTunes (or iCloud) before using evasi0n. If something breaks, you'll always be able to recover your data.
• Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues.
• Avoid all iOS and iTunes related tasks until evasi0n is complete. Why not just enjoy a brief break from the computer to stretch your legs?
• If the process gets stuck somewhere, it's safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process.
• If you get an error on OS X 10.8 saying that evasi0n can't be opened, control-click (or right-click) the app and on the revealed context menu, choose 'Open.' On the ensuing dialogue box, choose 'Open' as well.

2. Extract the Package to find the Evasi0n app.
3. Double Click on the evasi0n app to open it or Right Click Run As Administrator (if you are on a windows machine)
4. Make sure your device doesn’t have any passcode enabled. On your device Go to Settings – General – Passcode Lock – and turn it off.
5. Plug in your device to the computer and wait for the jailbreak software to detect it.
6. Once detected you will see a message on the evasion jailbreak software with your device name and the Jailbreak button will become active.
7. Click on Jailbreak and the Jailbreak process will start.
8. To be exact it takes a while for the whole process to finish, the Jailbreak tool will perform several steps of jailbreak which you can track by the messages on screen. Preparing Jailbreak Data, Injecting Jailbreak Data, rebooting the device, uploading cydia, Uploading cydia packages list etc
9. Once all the automated steps finish you will see a message asking you to unlock your device, just unlock your device by sliding the slider and you will see a Jailbreak app on the home screen, tap on the icon and the later steps of jailbreak will begin. The screen will go blank, just be patient and let the tool do it’s work.
10. When all the process if completed, a “done” message will appear on the jailbreak tool, Your device will auto reboot and will take some serious time to boot up. Don’t worry it is normal.
11. When done, your device will display a large evasi0n logo and some messages flashing like Settings up fstab and AFC2, Setting up Cydia, Setting up Cydia packages, Cleaning SpringBoard Cache and Rebooting.

After reboot, the same screen will appear again and some more messages flashing like Initializing offsets, finding offsets, Patching kernel, cleaning up and Continuing boot. Once all these are done, you will be taken to the unlock screen of your device. Your device is now untethered jailbreakon with Evasion.
For the final steps you have to unlock your device and open cydia, Cydia will start initializing your device with might take around two minutes, once done you will be taken back to the lock screen, unlock and start cydia again and select user type and enjoy your jailbroken device.

The update will fix the weather app crashing bug and also the long reboot issue that was affecting some users after jailbreaking their iOS devices using the evasi0n jailbreak tool that was released on Monday. The fix is available in the form of updates to two packages on Cydia: evasi0n 6.0-6-1 Untether (v0.2-3) and UIKit Tools (v1.1.6). To install the fix, launch Cydia, tap on the Changes tab at the bottom, then

tap on the Upgrade button, followed by the Confirm button. Cydia should prompt you to reboot your device after installing the updates. This fix is for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users. How to downgrade iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1 on A4 devices

                                                   


Have an iPhone 4, iPod touch, or below running iOS 6, and would like to downgrade back to iOS 5.1.1? Doing so is easy is you have your SHSH blobs saved for iOS 5.1.1 and can follow the steps inside. Unlike the beta period of iOS 6, you must have your SHSH blobs for iOS 5.1.1 save for you device now, because Apple has stopped signing iOS 5.1.1.
To downgrade, you will need the latest public version of RedSn0w. We will use the SHSH Stitching feature to combine the appropriate IPSW file for 5.1.1 and your corresponding SHSH blob for the device you wish to downgrade. It may sound a bit confusing, but it’s extremely easy if you follow along carefully.
Take a look inside for the full walkthrough and video how-to.

1.  download ipsw file for 5.1.1 
2. download redsn0w  
3.  Locate the SHSH blob you saved earlier. You must have an iOS 5.1.1 SHSH blobs saved for you device, and stored on your local computer, or on Cydia. If you have it on your computer, locate it, and place it in the same folder as the 5.1.1 IPSW file. If it’s stored on Cydia, then continue on.

Step  4. Place your device running iOS 6 into DFU mode.
Step 5. Open RedSn0w, and click Extras > SHSH blobs > Stitch.

Step 6: Click IPSW and select the iOS 5.1.1 IPSW for your device.


Step 7: If your SHSH blobs are stored on Cydia, Click Cydia under the blobs section. If you have your SHSH blobs stored locally, click Local, and select the SHSH blob for iOS 5.1.1 for your device.
Step  8: Once the IPSW and blob are selected, RedSn0w will stitch them together to create an all encompassing firmware file for iOS 5.1.1. You will be able to use this firmware file to downgrade, even though Apple is no longer signing iOS 5.1.1.






Step 10: Open iTunes, and it should detect your device in recovery mode. Hold Option and click Restore, then select your newly created stitched firmware file. The filename should be prefixed by a series of 13 numbers, which is the device’s ECID.
Step 11: Allow iTunes to completely restore your device, and you may be presented with an Error -1 from iTunes. Do not worry.



Step 12: Open RedSn0w, and click Extras > Recovery fix.


Step 13: Place your device back into DFU mode, and the Recovery fix should run successfully.
Step 14: Once the Recovery fix is completed, your device will be completely restored back on iOS 5.1.1.
you are done.

How to Permanently Preserve Your iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak

If you’ve been paying attention to the jailbreak scene lately, then you’ve heard the warnings about preparing for Apple’s next counter move against jailbreakers. The question is this: have you heeded it?
It’s imperative that you update to iOS 5.0.1 now and save your SHSH blobs across all devices, including the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. That way, you can always downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 later, which means you will always have access to an untethered jailbreak.
We’ll show you how to create a firmware file for your A4 devices that can always be jailbroken. We’ll also tell you what to do to preserve the jailbreakability of your A5 devices as well. If you haven’t done this yet, now is the time to act…
Step 1: Download the latest version of TinyUmbrella and RedSn0w from thefirmwareumbrella page.
Step 2: Connect your iDevice to your computer.
Step 3: Open TinyUmbrella and save your 5.0.1 SHSH blobs using the settings outlined in the video above. Note: This has to be done while Apple is still signing the iOS 5.0.1 firmware, so act fast before they update to 5.1. You can also retrieve your blobs from Cydia if you already have them saved on Cydia’s servers.
Step 4: Open RedSn0w and go to Extras > SHSH blobs > Stitch and point to the iOS 5.0.1 firmware for your device, and then select the 5.0.1 SHSH blob and let RedSn0w stitch them together. Note: This step only applies to A4 devices like the iPhone 4 or iPad 1. See below for more details.
Step 5: Save your newly created self-contained IPSW file to a safe spot. Now you will always be able to downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 even if Apple is no longer signing the firmware.
About Stitching: You don’t necessarily have to create a stitched IPSW+SHSH blob to protect your iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak; in fact, as of now you can’t stitch blobs for A5 devices like the iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Instead, save off both the firmware for iOS 5.0.1 along with the SHSH blob in a safe place. Once a bootrom level exploit is found for A5 devices, you can go back and stitch these together.
You can then restore using your stitched IPSW file by utilizing PwnedDFU mode and the Custom IPSW option in RedSn0w.
